Students will be able to purchase Purdys’ chocolates this holiday season to help support the Gleneagle after-grad.

The committee consists of parents and vice principal, Kathryn Jung, is teaming up with Purdys Chocolatier to raise funds.  The fundraising is a seasonal event worthy of the Christmas theme and is the first event for 2023 graduates.

“The advantage of this fundraising is that not only can you get Purdys’ delicious chocolate, but you can even raise money for the grads, so I think it’s a really good way to support them,” said Hamraz Ghorbannejad, grade 12.

Fundraising runs through November 28. To participate in the fundraising, use the Purdys online store (bit.ly/PurdysFundraising), enter your information and click ‘Join campaign’, ‘Shop online, and ‘Use marketplace’. After that, you can stock up on your favorite Purdys’ treats, do Christmas shopping, and support fundraising for graduates with the convenience of online shopping. If you are already a Purdys member and wish to join the campaign, you can simply enter the customer number ‘45936’. Orders will be picked up at the school on December 12 between 3 and 4 pm.

“I hope they will consider purchasing some chocolates. If you’ve never tried Purdys’ chocolate, it’s really yummy and really nice to have over the holidays. So, I hope people give it a try. Also, it’s a really good cause,” said Heather Owens, fundraising supporter, and advisor to the after-grad committee.

Although the fundraising sales goal has not been set, the committee is looking to raise money for amazing events that will happen after graduation. Also, there will be many fundraising events in the future.

“We’re really hoping to be able to put on some sort of event after the dinner dance. And so there will be a range of fundraisers to try and raise some money for that,” stated Owens.
