Emily Choi is a 15-year-old grade 10 student attending Gleneagle secondary school. She’s considering becoming an optometrist in the future, but she still isn’t completely sure about it. Since Choi is still not fully sure about what career path she’s going to choose, she has an interest in something relating to science, and a more interactive job rather than being behind the screen. Subsequently, Choi has a dislike for P.E. and anything in relation to sports, but the only physical activity she enjoys is dance.

Choi was born on May 19^thin 2007, in BC, Canada. They belong to a Chinese mother and Hong-Konger father; they also have an older sister who is 6 years older than she is. She speaks around 4 languages and is learning and continuing to improve. Because they were born and raised in Canada, English is their most fluent language, followed by their mother-tongue, Cantonese. Choi is around half-fluent in Mandarin and is also learning Korean.

When she was a child, Choi’s favourite memory was going to China and Hong Kong with her mom. During the summer, she went to the Seventeen concert. Choi says this will be added to her core memories of her life.

Choi was born in Vancouver. When they were a toddler, they lived in Port-Coquitlam, but ever since they were 2, they moved to Coquitlam and have lived there ever since.

One of Choi’s favourite movies is called ‘Better Days’, directed by Kwok Cheung Tsang. Choi enjoys this film so much because it “covers the topic of harassment, bullying, and pain” (Digital Mafia Talkies). The film was able to touch her heart.

Her music taste is primarily K/J-pop, and it has played a role in influencing her style. Choi’s favourite artist is Seventeen/ Yoon Jeonghan, and their favourite song is ‘Around You’ by Hyunjin.

Choi has a specialty in crafting. As a kid, they they would spend all their free time making cardboard crafts, knitting, and painting, however; Choi has been doing art less and less now. Currently, they are really enjoying fashion, makeup and glamming up.

For hair, Choi prefers short hair over long hair. Since she likes to dye her hair, dyeing shorter hair is less of a hassle than dyeing long hair. Other than makeup and fashion, Choi enjoys making abstract paintings. From two block to long hair, Choi has tried many types of hair styles throughout her life.
