Top Gun is a movie about an elite program in the United States that contain the best pilots in the American army. These pilots are held to a high expectation as they encounter dangerous missions which are life threatening. The first Top Gun movie was released in 1987 which starred Tom Cruise as the main character (maverick) known as the best pilot in the academy. Top gun was a huge success, it made approximately 180.6 million dollars.
On May 27, 2022, Top Gun (Maverick) the sequel was released starring Tom Cruise. To date it has made close to 1 billion dollars. In this movie Maverick was asked to become a teacher at the Top Gun school for the American Forces. His job was to train new pilots for combat, some that were impossible to beat. He was only able to take the best 5 pilots into battle due to the high risk of fatality.
The movie was full of action, romance and suspense… all of which kept the audience focused on the story line. I would highly recommend this to people who are into action movies, although it is very important to watch the first film so you can have a better understanding of the narrative.
The movie was filmed in real F-18 fighter jets. The cast went through a 3-month course to learn how to fly a plane and military procedures incase anything went wrong. The movie needed the best film crew possible to be able to catch a full speed fighter jet on camera with perfect angles.
Definitely thumbs up from me.
