“So far, the season has gotten off to a rocky start with harsh weather that has made so they have had to cancel a few games without rescheduling and Terry Fox having to drop out of the league due to being short one player” according to coach Etsuko Yamada.

“The team is having lots of fun this season so far! We have been at the mercy of some inclement weather at times, which has forced the cancellation of some of our matches versus other schools, however, we continue to practice at Eagle Ridge Courts to prepare for the upcoming District Championships Coach Yamada added. The teams practice twice a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The junior and senior teams have had 4 games so far to prepare with their most recent game against Port Moody on April 28th which they lost 4 sets to 7 sets, however the teams other 2 losses were close. The Junior team is feeling strong in preparation for the playoffs with a few players from the junior team even practicing against some of the senior players. According to Africa Tecedor, “some of the players are still a bit nervous for the playoffs but hoping they will pull it off”.

Their playoff games happened Monday May 9th against the Centennial Centaurs  which they won 6 sets to 5 sets and the game that took place after was against Burnaby North which they also won which means their next game could be against either Pinetree secondary or New Westminster silver or gold. After these results they will advance to the provincials that take place on May 26th to 28th.
