This year’s wrestling season ended before spring break with only one student competing for the provincial championships on February 25. This student is Rhodri Szeto, a grade 11 player in the Gleneagles wrestling team, he competed in the Fraser Valley Division on February 11 and placed fifth, but he did not place in the provincial championships .Previously Szeto,  competed in the Fraser Valley Division on February 11 and placed fifth.

“Wrestling is a good sport. It’s very competitive and difficult to train for, but anyone can do it. “said Brian. Hunter. Then he qualified for the Provincial Championships on February 25th. Unfortunately, he did not place in this competition. This year, the Gleneagles wrestling team practiced with Pinetree at the beginning of the wrestling season, but due to the pandemic, the Pinetree wrestling team that had previously trained with The Gleneagles wrestling team stopped training, so the Gleneagles wrestling team also stopped training. But Rhodri kept training and competing. “It takes time to be a good wrestler and focus on how to improve rather than being distracted by other factors,” Mr. Hunter said.As challenging as it is, wrestling has its fair share of critics. Some people find it rude. “I don’t agree with that. All the wrestlers I know are very respectful and they are very kind in competition and in life.” “said Mr. Hunter.

Hopefully, by next wrestling season, the Gleneagles wrestling team will be back in training and doing their best in competition.
