Gleneagle’s library serves an important role for students and staff, providing information, education, and culture. In particular, the ‘Gleneagle Reading Committee’ is actively trying to make it a hub for the school community by activating book-reading activities. It actively contributes to the growth of students by operating reading and discussion to develop student awareness and literacy. Therefore, the Gleneagle community needs to take an interest in this committee and vitalize it.

The positive effect this committee has on students is indescribable. In today’s era where video media such as internet cartoons and movies are easier to distribute than books, this committee provides students with an experience of reading books. This experience will ensure that students have a richer vocabulary and word choice when writing. If the reason for writing is academic work, there will be more reasons to read the book.

However, a significant number of students are not interested in this committee and are unaware of its existence. But this committee is like a hidden treasure in the sea. It meets twice a month to share its thoughts on the book. The books they will read are delivered through teams each time. After reading a book, they share what impressed them with each other, and they also recommend books.

If our Gleneagle students are interested in and participate in this committee, it will have a huge impact on students and schools. With a more active library system, many genres of books will be placed in the library. This will be an opportunity for students to be exposed to a variety of books, and this opportunity will lead to students’ inner growth. Through this, the school will be able to obtain benefits for student growth and the vitalization of the school department. The school and students grow together, which is authentic education.

The Gleneagle Reading Committee is already having a lot of positive impacts on schools. There is a ‘book request form’ opposite the counter in the library, so students and staff are doing their best to purchase the books they want. They also host events such as book sharing to promote many good books in the world. The Gleneagle community should pay attention to their efforts and promote this committee to be active.

Now, the times are emphasizing the importance of reading. To do this, students need to develop a positive perception of the book. The Gleneagle Reading Committee, which creates many positive factors for such awareness improvement, should pay attention to the Gleneagle Reading Committee and encourage them to produce more positive effects.
