Oliver Hum is a second year student at Gleneagle Secondary School, but he plans to graduate early by taking extra courses during the summer. Oliver’s inspiration to become a better person is his parents. His parents are very supportive of Oliver and always believe in him, they are also very caring and hard-working, and he believes that those are the characteristics of a good person. Oliver is very passionate about being able to live life to the fullest and learn as much as possible. He believes that having fun is one of the most important things in life, and that nobody should die without fully enjoying their life. Oliver feels that learning new things is a great way to pass time and finds it very enjoyable. He also plans on taking online/summer classes so that he can graduate early. If he were to travel anywhere, Oliver would like to travel to Japan. He says that he has always been interested in Japanese culture and would like to be able to experience it first-hand. Oliver’s favorite memory was when he travelled to Costa Rica with a group where he got to meet lots of new people and learned about many different cultures. The group that he travelled with is called CISV (Children’s Internation Summer Vilalges) and its goal is to educate and inspire action for a more just and peaceful world through international relationships. In his free time, Oliver likes to play sports. Oliver runs cross country, run track and field, and he plays badminton.
