In “Amanda Gao – From nothing to everything” by Lucia Chen“, about Amanda Gao’s experience in the devastating Tangshan earthquake, I noticed that she made a lot of personal connections and experiences with the elder. The reader got to learn a lot more about Amanda Gao even before the interview was written about. I also really liked that the interview was about one story of her life, and an interesting one. Contrastingly, mine was just general information about Mr. Abbinante. I also liked how she put the photos beside the text, which I will keep in mind to incorporate into my future blog posts.

In “Andrew L’s journey to Africa, that changed him” by Mieke Kriegel, about Andrew L’s time travelling, much like Lucia’s I really liked that it was written about one particular story of his life. Also, I liked that the interview had a moral, and a piece of information that everyone could take away from it, which was how impactful travelling can be.
In “My Father tells of his story” by Sabrina Li, about her father’s rought childhood and move to a new big city, the first thing I noticed was that he feature image contained a quote that related to the story (on the left), and I think that was really great. Much like the other two stories, this one also was written around one specific story of his life, and I think it was very interesting to read about.

For all stories, I think their titles were a lot more eye-catching than mine, which I think I could learn from. All three of their stories were also written around a specific aspect or story of their life, whereas mine was more just a broad subject.
