This month the musical theatre students are performing a cabaret on November 25.
“The cabaret is a night of musical theatre songs from various musicals presented by the students in our musical theatre course,” said Justin Maller, drama and musical theatre teacher.
“The purpose of the cabaret is to advertise Prom, the spring musical production in May and fundraise to help fund that show,” added Maller.
A glimpse of the songs that they will be performing are from different kinds of musicals, such as Hamilton, Heathers, La La Land, Rent, and many more. The musical theatre students did not have to audition for their performances but got to choose their songs to truly showcase their passion for singing a song on stage that they haven’t been able to yet.
This is Anabelle Lim’s first year in musical theatre, so she is surrounded by a new environment of people and has many memories to make, going forward.
“I am looking forward to experience singing on stage in front of an audience with my peers,” said Lim, grade 9.
According to Maller, the audience will be seated at tables and will be served desserts and treats and watch the songs performed on stage. He added that the tickets will be $12.00 and there is limited seating 100 to 125 audience total.
“I am excited to see the talented and hard-working students of Gleneagle put on a performance” said Dorna Hajimohammadi, grade 10.
Students and teachers throughout the school are looking forward to seeing their classmates perform in this upcoming cabaret. So don’t miss the upcoming cabaret because it will make you see what kind of talent the students in our school have to offer, and to have an overall fun time!
