The book Curveball the Year I Lost My Grip, was a fun and enjoyable book considering I love sport and don’t read a lot. This book is about an all-star teen pitcher named Pete, whose dream is to become a popular pitcher/catcher duo in high school with his best friend AJ. He also had a passion for photography which he shared with his grandfather. Pete had a horrible accident at the end of the baseball season, causing him to never be able to throw a ball again.

Pete enters high school and has a photography class with the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. It turns out they are both very experienced photographers, and they get moved into an advanced class as the only freshman. They ended up getting really close over the year taking pictures for the yearbook, and even ended up in a relationship. Pete is going through lots of stress with his girlfriend, not being able to play baseball again, and now thinks there’s something up with his grandfather.

His grandfather taught Pete all he knows about photography and was really an important person in Pete’s life. Personally, I loved this book. I was always engaged which isn’t normal for me since I don’t exactly enjoy reading.

I definitely recommend this to people who enjoy sports, especially baseball, as it’s a sports quick read. Overall, usually I don’t enjoy reading, but I enjoyed this book a lot, always had the motivation to read it and definitely encourage others to take a look at it.
