Students with an interest in photography can gain tips, tricks, and support by joining the photography club. It is a way for students to learn more about photography and to share and improve their photography skills. The members of the club take pictures and try to improve their photography skills by looking at art pieces and trying to tell stories through their pictures. This helps them to better understand how to use composition, lighting, and other elements to create interesting and compelling photos.

“We are working towards doing a photo shoot for the musical theatre department and hopefully they’ll come soon,” said Callum Rettie, Grade 12, Club member. They are also working on some individual projects right now, mainly about social justice and political issues and members will come together and put ideas of what they think is hot right now in the world and create a message. It is great that the club is taking the initiative to work on important projects like this. We all must come together and use our voices to create positive change in the world.

The photography club at our school has not been able to run over the past two years due to COVID. However, they were able to do a bake sale in the 2019-20 school year, and hopefully, they will be able to do another bake sale this year so stay tuned!

If feeling interested in joining the photography club stop by room 112 during lunch on Mondays, you can look forward to doing photoshoots and photo edits every other week.
