Berta Cortada Solé is a student from Barcelona, a beautiful Mediterranean city which she loves and hates equally, due to its beautiful views but horrible pollution and crime rates. Berta had lived her entire life there, but this last August she started an exchange term in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Berta is a huge fan of soccer (even though she prefers calling it football), and she has played it since her early childhood years. She has been a big FC Barcelona fan for as long as she can remember, and two things that she misses a lot now that she is in Canada, are watching soccer games on TV with her family and going to the stadium.

As a 15-year-old girl, Berta enjoys sleeping and wasting excessive amounts of time on social media, even though she has been trying to change that horrible habit. Besides that, her main interests are:

  • Cooking some of her favourite meals such as grain bowls and salads, vegetable soups and legume based plates.
  • Reading non-fiction books or crime stories, the “based in reality” ones are her favourites.
  • Watching movies and series. Some of her favorites are Call Me By Your Name by Luca Guadagnino, The Impossible by Juan Antonio Bayona and any true crime media, especially documentaries about terrorism in Europe.

During her free time, Berta also likes to listen to music, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and ABBA are usually the artists playing in her earphones, but she also tries to listen to new music whenever she can.

In the next few years, Berta wants to finish her secondary studies and enroll in an interior design degree at university (probably Elisava or BAU, both back in Barcelona). Once she graduates, Berta would like to work as an interior designer, and after becoming successful in her career she would love to build a lovely family, and live with them in a nice environment, full of love, care, and respect.
