Gleneagle is assembling their best track and field team this season. With the re-opening of sport teams after last year’s COVID-19 hiatus, many students are eager to put their runners back on and compete for our school. The team’s first practice will be held on April 27th and will be held at Percy Perry Stadium. Future practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30-6:00 pm and Saturday at 10:00-11:30 am.
Coquitlam Cheetah’s coach Paul Self is helping to coach this season, with many of our players coming from the Cheetahs as well.
This year’s track team boasts both new and veteran runners from each grade. The team is a great place for students to practice with friends and meet new ones.
One track team member and Coquitlam Cheetah’s athlete Oliver Huh, grade 11, is excited to run for Gleneagle this season along with his fellow teammates. Huh is optimistic about this season, as there have been “lots of new people and everyone is improving”. Though he has been impeded by a shin injury, Huh is steadily recovering and ready to bounce back.
There are currently no races planned for the team.
