At the end credits of Marvel’s Spider-Man Far from Home, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker’s identity was revealed by the villain Mysterio, and left fans on a cliff hanger. On February 24, of this year, Sony Pictures Entertainment released the title of their next Spider-Man movie that is scheduled to release today, December 16, 2021, Spider-Man No Way Home.
Fans have been waiting a while for this movie to be released in theaters. With more people getting vaccinated for Covid-19, it is now possible for people to go to the theaters to enjoy a movie, even Gleneagle students are planning to watch No Way Home in theaters.
“For sure, I’ve been waiting for this movie to release for about a year” said Vansh Sahni, grade 10. There are more people who would want to watch it in theaters but prefer to wait until the hype dies down a bit
“I don’t think that I will watch it on the same day that it comes out, maybe a week after,” said Daniel Saadatmandi; grade 10 student, when asked the same question.
For the new movie we know there are five confirmed villains, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Sandman, Electro and Lizard. These villains were part of past Spider-Man movies Staring Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield. There have been more villains in their movies, but they probably won’t show in the upcoming movie.
As a recap, in Far from Home, Peter fights a villain named Mysterio who was a former employee of Stark Industries. When Peter meets him, he thinks that Mysterio is a superhero like him, but was just trying to steal technology. Peter defeats Mysterio, but what he didn’t know was that before the fight ended, Mysterio recorded the fight. Peter goes back home to New York and finds out his identity was revealed by Mysterio, and his words were taken out of context to make people against him. This will be a huge story arch in the new movie.
This will be a huge part of the story arch in the new movie.
The Confirmed cast are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, J.K Simmons Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Defoe, Alfred Molina, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, Thomas Haden Church, Rhys Ifans, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Benedict Wong.
The Rumored Cast (even though we have so much evidence these actors are in the film) are Charlie Cox, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.
Image 1: In the first image, you can see Tom Holland’s Peter Parker lunging at the villains, but Lizard was way lower than Holland’s Spider Man and looked like there was another person he was targeting. Same with Electro but he was way above Tom’s Spider Man and looked like he was targeting another person. This leads to evidence that Sony and Marvel removed two people from the Trailer 2 scene. And based on the tremendous amount of leaks the two people Sony removed are Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.
People say this film is the worst kept secret in Hollywood history. Before any announcements of actors that will appear in the film. There were tons of leaks. An example is a leak from Daniel Rpk aka Daniel Richtman which is a Marvel Insider, he tweets Marvel Movie leaks on Twitter and is over 90% accurate with the leaks.
He said the three possibilities for the title of Spider Man 3 and sure enough one of them was the right title. He even predicted the release date of Trailer 1 for Spider Man No Way Home, and he went on to reveal that the post-credits for Venom Let there be Carnage sequence will feature Eddie Brock and Venom being sent back to their own universe following their shocking multiverse trip at the end of the film. However, when leaving the MCU, Eddie will accidentally leave a trace of the symbiote behind, thus allowing Venom to feature in more MCU outings.
Before trailer 1 was released Alfred Molina had already provided all infamous No Way Home secrets in an interview which he was not supposed to reveal. Jamie Foxx also revealed that he is in the new Spider Man movie on October 6, 2020, on his Instagram is showed a fan image with three spider man in it. He basically confirmed that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be in the movie. And Molina’s comments further reinforce those leaks.
Lots of Spider-Man secrets have leaked left and right all year long.
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have been most known for their roles as Spider-Man in the past. Tobey Maguire for the first live action trilogy, and Andrew Garfield for The Amazing Spider-Man. It’s no question that all three actors have made an iconic impact on Marvel films. People love all the different Spider-Men for the diversity in their characters,
“Tobey Maguire for the memes, but if I’m being serious, Tom Holland.” said Daniel Saadatmandi Grade 10 student, when asked which of the three Spider-Man he preferred the most.
In the new movie Spider-Man No Way Home, there has been some controversy on whether they will appear in the film.
When asked if they think Maguire and Garfield will show up in the new movie, Vansh Sahni responded with, “Honestly, I have no idea. It looks like they will, but you never know what will happen.”
There are many theories and predictions out there, but because of what happened in Disney plus series like What If, Wanda Vison and Loki, anything is possible, and we really don’t know what’s going to happen next. There are theories going around that Dr. Strange in the new Spider-Man movie is not the real Dr. Strange but someone else. In the trailer, Dr. Strange agrees to use his magic to help Peter get out of the mess he’s in, but the magic that he’s using is very unstable and can cause problems, it’s not like Dr. strange to use magic so recklessly.
Loki’s infinite multiverse sets up the entirety of Marvel history for any number of retcons that the folks in charge might deem necessary. It allows current MCU casts and crews to cherry pick what they liked from old MCU projects and fold them into this new normal.
While the new multiverse provides creators with endless storytelling opportunities that could expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it also sets up an easy out for the studios to separate the Spider-Man movies from the rest of the MCU.
Loki has made anything possible now, who knows what the future of the MCU might look like now.
