It was on October 27, 2005 that inspirational black leader rosa parks died from old age. Rosa Parks Death | Rosa Parks Facts. Rosa Parks was very important to many black because of her courage and bravery to stand up for herself against racism and lately, we have been having lots of problems due to racism.
Rosa Parks was known for sticking up for herself on a bus, at the time black people weren’t supposed to sit in the front of the bus and by rosa being black she was discriminated and fought to leave. Luckily, racism is not as bad anymore, but the problem is, it has not fully gone away. As a matter of fact, we still have a long way to go for this problem to end.
2020 was a year of change as many people around the globe came together to fight against racism. It was called BLM also known as Black lives matter. They would protest along the streets fighting for what is right.
Did racism end there? Sadly, it did not as there were many people still saying mean things towards black people and would discriminate the ones who believe in BLM.
On December 8, 2020 a UEFA Champions league match with PSG and Istanbul going head to head.
Unfortunately, 20 minutes into the game a player from Istanbul Demba Ma got into an altercation with the North official after the referee allegedly made a racist comment. Players walk off, PSG-Basaksehir Champions League game suspended after official’s alleged racial abuse (msn.com).
Due to the comment the game was postponed until the next day and everyone walked off the field
There have been many more racist comments through out the year and this horrible problem has yet to be fixed.
I really hope we all come together and realize that making racist jokes and comments is unacceptable and we can hopefully move on and maybe even solve other problems such as climate change and many more.
