On March 2, the girls’ soccer team had their first practice, where they prepared for the upcoming season. Terai Short, coach and English teacher, is looking forward to the new season and has high hopes for the team.

The practice consisted of mainly team oriented passing drills and communication to build a base structure for the team.

“Last year was quite fun. There were lots of new faces, which was great because it meant more girls were interested in trying soccer,” said Grace Tognotti, grade 10.

The girls bonded through their wins and losses, also, they participated in multiple tournaments last season. “I look forward to meeting new girls and getting more touches on the ball this year,” added Tognotti.

Now with a larger roster they hope to have a fun and competitive season. Last year the girls were unsuccessful in winning any titles, but they hope that this will be the year.

“It’s a new season and the girls are in their best form, we are aiming for a strong start to the season,” said Mia Tognotti, grade 11.
